I have been fairly happy with Shopify. The price is reasonable. The support has been excellent (and my Canadian speaking skills continue to improve). My biggest problem has been trying to improve my SEO. Anything Shopify can do to help me with that would be much appreciated. The Kit app has been somewhat helpful, but I get lost in the setup on my end on some of the Kit options/suggestions. My geek skills are on the low end. 

Shopify is easy to use, intuitive and scalable as my business has grown! The base themes are a solid foundation that can be personalized and the premium ones are top notch. As the community of stores has grown the number of developers building apps has increased exponentially which has allowed me to add on functionality I would have had to get built from scratch.

However, I would say that star ratings can prove useful – even if there are a high percentage of 1-2 star ratings – because it shows that the community has standards and understands what they need most. Any platform as popular as Shopify will inevitably have sub-standard apps making it to the marketplace, but I would advise looking at the top charts and most highly rated apps to see if there is something that could help you out.

They’ve done the same to me. I sell beauty products, you know, cleansers, moisturizers, masks… They call them “pseudopharmaceuticals”. I have very popular and reputable lines, so this is hogwash. I now have to pay !5 of my sales, plus deal with third parties for credit card processing. Shopify never mentioned this up front, happy to take my money. Only found out after my site was built, which I spent money to build. Not happy. if you’re selling beauty products, this is a problem. I’m looking for options…

With Shopify Plus you can have multiple countries website under one account. We have a dedicated success manager that we can throw any Shopify related question to and their support team is always on line and fix problem super fast. For a simple eCommerce website for a small business I’m torn between whether to use Shopify or GoDaddy’s Quick Shopping Cart. I’ve played around in the trial feature Shopify offers and so far, it seems fine. However, it’s a bit expensive especially when starting out. GoDaddy’s Quick Shopping Cart (Deluxe Plan) is $14.99 whilst Shopify’s Basic Plan is $29 (and then there’s the 2% transaction charge on top of that), so GD is actually much cheaper (unless I’m missing something). But I’ve heard mixed things about both services from all the comments and reviews I’ve read.
Hello, I’m wondering if Shopify offers increments of units and multiple choices of units? I’m currently running an online fabric store on another website builder and I’m unhappy with the fact that I have to offer things by the centimetre. I’d rather offer by the metre – the normal way to buy fabric – and increments of 0.1 metre. Does Shopify offer that option?
