Somewhere on the page it is explained that no credit card number is needed, but after I began to build a shop, I had to select a plan and enter the credit card number in order to have access to some functions. I did not like the fact that I have to close the shop before March 9th in order to avoid receiving the invoice for March. It should be on contrary, the shop should be closed in a case I do not decide to go on with the shop.

I like the fact that shopify can provide me with POS in reasonable market price but I still don’t understand what am I paying for when it comes for their monthly $49. that’s expensive. with square merchant services you pay only per sale, but as we all know, they don’t have a good customer service and they hold your money since they are working in a high risk market.

By 2016, eMarketer expected retail e-commerce sales in Brazil to reach $17.3 billion. India has an Internet user base of about 460 million as of December 2017. Despite being third largest user base in world, the penetration of Internet is low compared to markets like the United States, United Kingdom or France but is growing at a much faster rate, adding around 6 million new entrants every month. In India, cash on delivery is the most preferred payment method, accumulating 75% of the e-retail activities. The India retail market is expected to rise from 2.5% in 2016 to 5% in 2020.

Shopify can enable your users to buy your products directly through Facebook thanks to the two platforms’ integration. You can also enable and manage user accounts on your Shopify store. However, I’m not so sure you can combine the two, unless their is a specific app that can be approved through Facebook and allow this data and information to be collected and stored, almost like a remote Shopify account. There is a Shopify forum discussion on this topic here, and an app to possibly consider is ‘One Click Social Login‘.

When you sign up for an account with Shopify, the system will ask you to name your store and it will then assign you a site address. Choose a store named “WeSellStuff,” for example, and your site address will be “wesellstuff.myshopify.com.” While you’re always welcome to keep this site address as the home of your store on the ‘net, you’re more than likely going to want to change it to something more catchy, easy to remember, and not focused on Shopify.
Upon joining Shopify, after entering your shop name, the system will ask you a few questions about the type of shop you are opening and then ask for some personal details. After that, you’ll be on the main dashboard page. I have to say that whilst the system is easy to set up, I find it a bit limited. It’s true that you can customize your email, but you can only send the email 1, 6, 10 or 24 hours after. I wish there was an option to set rules to trigger (or not) the follow-up email (e.g. minimum order amount). What happens if you don’t know their email address? Other options like popups or banners would be nice to have.
Per the University Password Policy, ECom passwords must be changed at least once every 120 days. If you suspect that another person may have access to your account, change your password immediately. Please note, you can only use GUAVA to change your password. If you change your password using the utilities in Microsoft Windows or in programs like Microsoft Outlook, your ECom password will not change.

The apps install within seconds, so it doesn't take a genius to handle those. However, if you are more of an advanced developer, Shopify has the tools for you as well. The only area that may be of concern for people with more advanced coding and development skills is that an FTP client is not included with the ecommerce platform, somewhat hindering the control you have over the site.
However, if you use a lower Shopify plan, there are transaction fees associated with each sale (in addition to payment processing fee, such as those charged by PayPal). The only way to completely remove, or lower the transaction fees is to either move to a higher plan, or use Shopify Payments (which is essentially powered by Stripe, which I don’t think is available in China yet). So this fee can reduce your margins a little bit. Most people are okay with it as it won’t make or break your business, but definitely something to keep in mind.

To set up your products, click the “products” text link in the left-side menu. Then click “Add product.” This will take you to a page where you can enter your product title, images, variants (like sizes and colors), shipping weight and other details. You can also set a “Compare At” price, which will show next to the actual price on your site as a crossed out amount, letting customers know that they’re getting an item for less than the suggested retail price.
