At the moment this is just an individual product but I’m looking to expand my product range in the very near future. I’m undecided whether to use Wix or Shopify since I’ll only launching a single product. I’m really liking the idea of using Shopify since I’m looking to expand my product range soon anyway. We’re guessing you don’t have a fleet of copyright attorneys on speed dial. That means it’s probably a good idea to play by the rules. Do not, for one instant, think that you are too small or insignificant to be caught. You may only have 100 YouTube followers today, but you can bet when you hit 10,000 or 100,000 or 1,000,000 followers, someone will start to take notice of your freewheeling copyright ways.  
The Shopify platform delivers tremendous value at a reasonable cost. We chose this platform over others because it offers great functionality out of the box. Additionally, Shopify has a great network of developers who are constantly adding apps and features that users demand from their eCommerce experience. This allows businesses to improve their site without incurring additional costs of paying developers and designers to keep up with the latest eCommerce features and trends.
I didn’t like how Woocommerce works and how indirect the fees can be, and unlike Shopify who had a very straightforward fee. But my business is not MAINLY about the products, it’s more of the community and the content which WordPress can properly handle better — in my opinion. The one thing I like about Shopify is the hosting, it’s faster than most WordPress sites (who usually have shared-hosting).

My wife and I have a online shoe business. We currently use Product Cart and are looking to switch to a more functionally rich and user friendly platform. I think we’ve narrowed it down to BC or Shopify. I have read your comparisons and understand the differences and similarities of each. What wasn’t really touched upon was integration with accounting software and 3PL (fulfillment) software platforms.
With Shopify, we've been able to create 3 customized web sites; NaykedApparel.com, NaykedPromos.com and NaykedWholesale.com that target three different demographic groups with unique buying habits. Shopify has enabled us to quickly and without a lot of coding experience, create unique shopping experiences that have resulted in increased sales for all 3 sites.
Thanks for writing the review. When signing on for the “lite” $9/month version, can you purchase a feature separately? I am interested in the abandoned checkout recovery option, but am not prepared to pay the $79 or $179 options. Hello, I want to start an online business. I do not have a lot of inventory, so before I jump into opening a store, I want to start by drop shipping. I am confused about how drop shipping works. How do I know how much to charge in shipping if my products will be from different vendors and different weights. Does Shopify do this automatically for me? And what if my vendor has an item that is on back order? The store I want to launch is Home Accents. Please let me know how I can get this started.

Thanks for your comment. We can assure you that all ecommerce builders are tried and tested through the same process but we are currently in the process of a re-rating. That said, Shopify is built for businesses looking to sell a large amount of products and scale fast and, for that purpose, it’s a great solution. If you’re put off by their pricing and are only looking to sell a few products, then we would suggest a website builder with ecommerce functionality, such as Wix or Squarespace. Overall though, I would suggest that you use the platform (whether it’s Shopify or GoDaddy) that you feel the most comfortable with. Also consider that when you grow bigger, if GoDaddy can scale along side with your business, and provide you with more needed features as your business grows. I know for Shopify they have a lot of different built in tools, and all sorts of powerful add-on’s (their apps market) which can power small businesses to very large businesses. One thing great about Shopify is that they are built to be able to handle and scale with growing businesses. It’s not a coincidence that they are one of the best and fastest growing e-commerce platforms out there.

By tapping into a global market, on the other hand, eCommerce retailers can build a highly profitable niche business without any further investment. Using online search capabilities, customers from any corner of the world can find and purchase your products.
